The Hardy 25 refit moving along with more bits going back in position and new parts being fitted

The second of the starboard side bulkheads going back in position, just got to fit the new water tank filler pipe and vent and this bulkhead can be fixed in permatmently and then the galley unit can be mocked up.

The new teak faced marine plywood locker front and top now fitted setting off the cockpit with a warm feeling with wood rather than white paint plywood fronts and tops as before

The battery locker with its two part hinged top to gain access to the batteries and to check the charger and switch the isolator to its different positions

The new battery charger installed and just needs wiring up to the batteries and to the shore power with its own circuit breaker fuse.

With the wiring that was no longer needed it is time to rewire the original wiring in a more up to date manner and make it a more neat wiring system.

The new locker fronts and tops for the cockpit to cover the fuel tank and the battery lockers

The owner wish to change the old white painted locker fronts and tops with fronts and lockers tops that matched the bulkheads and other wood work in the cockpit.

These old locker fronts and tops will be reused in another in the boat as there is nothing wrong with the plywood and it is a way of recycling the wood in another position in the boat.

The locker fronts and tops now got a coat of stain to match the bulkheads and other woodwork in the cockpit .

The locker fronts and tops will now get a few coats of thinned varnish before they are fitted in the cockpit to finish off the cockpit renew look.

Cleaning the main prefilter for the engine, looks like it has not been done for a while.

Having this dismantled the filter into its parts it was time to get rid of the dirt out of the bottom of the glass bowl part of the filter.

The dirt was stuck to the walls of the glass bowl and had to be wiped off the surface  and then washed out with cleaning fluid until the bowl was clear of any dirt or contaminant. Such as diesel bug that could top the engine when it is recommissioned.

All the parts were cleaned and all the pipes and parts were flushed through to more sure  then was nothing that could be over looked when cleaning out this necessary part of the fuel system.

All the part were left to drain down over night and new seals and filter element fitted

Then the whole filter was rebuild and checked for leaks and then got ready to refit in the boat.
