Dry fitting the joints of the new fore hatch plinth
doing some more detailed fitting of the joints before getting ready to glue together and then the job of then cleaning up the joints and shaping the bottom to fit the curves of the fore deck
Cutting it of joints individually to ensure it is the correct shape and size for the new hatch to fit on once the plinth is shaped and fitted to the fore deck
Traditional hand tools used to do the job with more feeling for the materials and doing it this way you can keep control of the job better

Making the main fore hatch plinth and mainsheet horse
Having got the teak from the local timber merchants it was cut to lengths to be worked on to produce the Mainsheet horse upstand and the pieces fro the main forehatch plinth
Setting out the pieces on the pattern for the main sheet upstand and the jig for the fore hatch plinth
The stating to cut the mitred half lap joints for the corners of the fore hatch plinth
Slow progress, however it is coming together
Drilling out the holes for the main sheet fixings to go through so there is a good backing support for the main sheet track when it is under loading while it is in use.
Showing the joints being used to connect the corners of the fore hatch plinth
Starting to fit the fore and aft toilet bulkhead to build the custom made toilet / shower compartment
Fitting the bulkhead to the shape of the deck head. Then mask off an area to sand back the top of the bulkhead and glass it to the deck head to make it part of the rest of the boat and the same will be done at the bottom.
The bulkhead is also screwed to the fore and aft floor bearer for good measure
All the wood as been varnished to keep it from getting stained and otherwise dirty and marked while the rest of the refit takes place.
