Giving the Morgan Giles 30 its new CopperCoat antifouling and seeing the mast back up after its 7 year restoration.

Like all well planned out jobs it is a matter of getting all the necessary equipment laid out before you start  the CopperCoat antifouling.


Masking taping up the waterline one final time before getting the CopperCoat mixed up ready to paint the bottom with the necessary number of coats of CopperCoat .



This is the bottom after the first 2 coats of  CopperCoat antifouling 






This is after the 5 coats of CopperCoat antifouling with just the final areas where the boat stands are and the bottom edge of the keel.


The Morgan Giles 30 with its mast with its mast steps fitted so the owner can view anchorage form up the mast or sort out anything on the mast while underway.

Removing the old bottom paint and sanding back to make it ready to epoxy shield the bottom before making a new keel.

Sanding the old bottom paint with extraction on the sander keeping the dust down to as much as possible.


The bottom is in fairly good overall condition apart from a few chips on the bottom where it must have been grounded in the past.


The port side all sanded back then on to the starboard side


The starboard side to go, it should be okay if it is like the port side.


Once it is done then the bottom will be epoxied and then then the new keel can be made and fitted to the hull, Then the boat will be turned over and the hull side.ill be sanded and painted and then the fit out of the inside of the boat can be finished off and the engine and stern gear and the rudder can be made and fitted.

The jaguar 22 is now getting closer to being relaunched

The bottom is now re-antifouled ready to be re-launched ready for the rest of the season.


Now that it is antifouled it is one less job that needs doing before April Star is re-launched and heads up to the Walton Backwaters.


The rudder and tiller are now back on the boat so we can steer her back on to her mooring at m=her present sailing club and do a few sailing trials before sailing up the Wallet Channel to the Walton Backwaters. 


One job we have to do is fit a new pad on the outboard bracket so we can fit the outboard to the boat to give us steerage way should the wind drop light and we need to motor part of the way back to the Walton Backwaters on her delivery voyage.


One other job will be to double check all the rigging and ensure it is all okay before setting sail on her once she is back in the water.
