The transformation of the bottom of the Picnic boat. Then we can make her new keel to support the stern tube

Before we started to transform the bottom of the hull we had to sand back the bottom getting rid of all the old antifouling and get the hull abraded to give the hull a key to apply the first coat of Gelshield epoxy treatment.

The hull was in reasonable condition and will only need a small of spot filling with epoxy filler to smooth out the hull.

A good sanding and the hull is now ready for the first coat of Gelshield 200 epoxy treatmant

The first side painted with the first coat of the Gelshield 200 epoxy treatment

The hull almost completely painted with the Gelshield 200 epoxy treatment

Finally the whole of the bottom now painted and then the next stage will be to do the spot filling of the hull where it is needed and then the filler will be sanded back and the next coats of Gelshield 200 epoxy treatment will be applied.

Once this treatment is completed then we can start on building the new keel to encapsulate the stern tube. Once the bottom is done then the topsides will be sanded back and repairs done to this part of the hull and then the interior fot out can be finished off and engine installed.
