Work on the Morgan Giles 30 as come along and the interior is now starting to come together

The aft cockpit bulkhead now back in position and the two fore and aft running bulkheads now glassed back in position

The first of the main bulkheads glassed in position, now it is time to fit the starboard bulkhead  into position and then cut the doorway out of the bulkheads once they are both in position and glassed in

Another job that was done while fitting the bulkheads was to make a custom ice box locker fro the cockpit. Now it as to have the outside surfaces covered with insulation before fitting in to its new home in the starboard cockpit locker

Finally finished the repairs to the rudder blade which had some loose matting around the leading and trailing edges which were removed and reinstated and the whole rudder epoxied like the hull and ready to have fitter pull on the areas which need fairing.

The first of the small top plank repairs

The small area of rotten top plank and gunwale and deck beam

All the rot cut out and the new grating piece being glued in position

The piece of gunwale being glued in position at the same time

All clamped up and glued together

After a quick sanding back and now ready to get this top plank varnished

The gunwale planed back to match the rest of the deck beams and gunwale and the deck beam socket cut out ready to fit the new deck beam.

Now that the rudder repairs are completed it gets its first coat of Gelshield epoxy before it as its fairing filler applied

The ice box locker now released from its mould and getting the top edge trimmed ready for the insulation fitted before it is fitted into position in the starboard aft cockpit locker

The last week was a week of fitting and glassing in new bulkheads around the Morgan Giles 30

Starting to cut to fit the new port side cockpit aft bulkhead between the lazarette locker and the port side cockpit locker

Glassing in the new starboard cockpit locker bulkhead, as the old bulkhead had rotted away

Glassing in the first of the main bulkheads, so that is now in position all the other measurements for the new interior can be worked out from this position.

The first bulkhead is the bulkhead you need to set up so that all the rest of the measurements can be worked from to get the  position correct and know how the interior can be set out and what will be able to fit in which area around the interior.
