Laying up a new dinghy for a client, first of two in build.

Having washed out the mould and compounded and polished the mould it was ready to be release waxed.

A good layer of release wax on the mould and it is now ready to have the first layer of White gelcoat.

This hull is going to have three coats of white gelcoat before it has a 600gm lay up.

The bow and stern buoyancy tank moulds are getting their surfaces compounded and then polished and then the same treatment as the hull and get three coats of white gelcoat.

It is good to start to build some new dinghies  and after these are delivery to their new owners we will be building some more.

Now the laying up of the hull begins with the first coat of White gelcoat.

This dinghy is going to have three coat of White gelcoat before it get a 600g lay up of CSM

Then it will be trimmed with Mahogany gunwales and centre thwart and Douglas fir oars and galvanised rowlocks

This is the standard spec for these dinghies, however,  there are a number of different options to choose from. Look at the J-Star Marine Services website to check on which options you wish to choose from.
