This was the back of the Fairline Carberra 24 looked like at the start of the refit and this is what the engine bay looks like now

When the Fairline Carberra 24 came to us the engine bay looked a bit of a mess with bits laying all over the place.

So the first job was to sort out what was going to be saved and what parts were going to go in Skip.

Now that the engine bay was cleared of all the mess it was time to get down to sorting out all the parts that were missing and replacing parts which were not needed anymore and doing cable and control line runs around the engine ready to put the engines back in place.

The first job was to make sure the engine were complete and any parts that were missing had been replaced and any final checks made before refitting the engines.

As you can see they are a close fit in the engine bay with not a lot of room around the engines to work on them.

THe time has come to put the engines back into the engine bay now that the work is done on the engines and in the engine bay.

At long last the engine bay is now in a position to put the engines back into the engine bay and reconnect them up to the outdrives. All the work to sort out the old wiring and damaged and broken cables and gear shift cables.

The transom shields have had all the moving parts unseized so that the outdrive trim covers work freely and move as they should and can be operated.

The outdrive legs have been checked over and any parts sorted so that they will work correctly when reconnected to the engines and the they have new bellows graters fitted.

The engines have been rebuild and all the missing parts replaced and so they are ready to go back in the engine bay

The engine with its lifting sling fitted to lift it back in place.
